			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In honor of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinco_de_Mayo" target="_blank">Cinco de Mayo</a> I pulled a shot out from the archives. My family and I traveled to Mexico to visit the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yucat%C3%A1n_Peninsula" target="_blank">Yucatán Peninsula</a> in the spring of 1993. We took some side trips to visit <a href="http://www.chichenitza.com/" target="_blank">Chichen Itza</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulum" target="_blank">Tulum</a> and on a gas stop in a small town on our way I snapped the pic below. The timing was perfect as the little boy in the window was pointing and looking in the same direction as the dragon on the wall.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-228" title="picture-2" src="http://leefenvisual.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/picture-2.png?w=192" alt="picture-2" width="103" height="161" />If you were in San Francisco in the post dot com era, you might have attended  <a href="http://www.sfweekly.com/2003-01-29/culture/elevating-the-platform/" target="_blank">Platform</a>&#8211;a series of events that showcased local talent in film, fashion, art, and music.   You might also know that when the Platform events ended, the spirit lived on in an urban lifestyle magazine called <em>Slightly Pointed East</em>.  While only three issues of <em>SPE</em> were ever published (a collectors item!), they are now immortalized online at <a href="http://issuu.com/" target="_blank">issuu</a>, a destination for archiving print publications, catalogs, etc. Check them out&#8230;</p>
