Art*o*mat

I’m pleased to announce that my art will now be carried by <<Art-0-mat>>.  These are retired cigarette vending machines that have been converted to vend art. There are 82 active machines in various locations throughout the U.S.

I will be supplying them with *extremely* limited-edition silk screen prints mounted onto roughly 2″ x 3″ wood blocks.  No piece will be the same as they will be specially selected cross sections of some of my existing prints.

More to come once my profile appears on their website and I learn which machines will carry my work.  In the interim, check out some of the very cool looking refurbished machines, and find an art-o-mat machine near you.

Inspired by a well known touring band playing in California early August I created a poster for the event. The imagery is based on one of my original illustrations called ‘Fish Out of Water’ which I felt fit the band’s energy and penchant for taking musical risks.

Selections from my Montreal Doors and Vehicular Style of California series will be showing at Hermosa Salon on College Avenue in Berkeley. Over the years I’ve managed to start numerous art projects only to get distracted by something else and put that project to the side. Needless to say there are always in-progress drawings or paintings that I can pull out to start working on again. Here is one that I pulled out recently to finish up, looking forward to adding color to this guy.

I’ve taken the shop off of leefenvisual and made that site strictly an art and design portfolio. So for now, my art is exclusively available for purchase online at Etsy. I’ll be adding a bigger selection there soon. Stay tuned…

The book blog Good Books in Bad Times launched recently from HarperOne, a division of HarperCollins Publishers. Good Books in Bad Times is a resource for books that provide comfort and serve as a force for good in difficult times.

I was asked to develop a logo and masthead that was modern and smart with an edge.
